Plain Style

Plain Style

Slats sewn inside for a smooth, clean finish.

  • Design: Slats are sewn inside the fabric for a flat, streamlined look.
  • Liner options: Available unlined or with an added liner.
  • Visibility: With a liner, slats are barely visible; without a liner, slats are more noticeable but still subtle.
  • System: Works with Cordless, Code Lift, No-Drill, and Motorized systems.
  • Blackout note: Our 100% blackout liners block most light, but a small amount may still seep through the stitching lines. Complete blackout is not available on our website.

Front Slat Style

Front Slat Style

Creates structured, segmented folds with a dimensional look.

  • Design: Slats are positioned on the front of the fabric for added depth.
  • Liner options: Available with or without a liner — front slats remain clearly visible either way.
  • Back view: Seams are visible if unlined, but concealed when lined.
  • Compatibility: Works with Cordless, Code Lift, and No-Drill systems.

Relaxed Style

Relaxed Style

Creates a soft, casual drape with a graceful curve — perfect for an effortless, elegant look.

  • Design: No slats are used; the fabric naturally forms a gentle arch at the center when raised.
  • Liner Requirement: Must be made with a liner for proper shape and drape.
  • Compatibility: Works with Cordless, Code Lift, and No-Drill systems.

Pleated Style

Pleated Style

Features evenly spaced horizontal pleats for a structured, elegant look that stacks beautifully when raised.

  • Design: No visible slats — the fabric gathers softly for a polished, classic finish.
  • Liner options: Available unlined or with an added liner.
  • Compatibility: Works with Cordless, Code Lift, and No-Drill systems.

Top Down Bottom Up

Top Down Bottom Up

Offers flexible light control — the shade can be lowered from the top or raised from the bottom while maintaining a smooth, flat front.

  • Design: The front remains flat; operation creates a visible gap between the upper and lower fabric sections.
  • Liner Options: Available with or without a liner — seams remain visible either way due to the dual-movement structure.
  • Compatibility: Works with Cordless, Code Lift, and No-Drill systems.
  • Blackout note: Our 100% blackout liners block most light, but a small amount may still seep through the stitching lines. Complete blackout is not available on our website.

Rib Spacing & Stack Height

Rib Spacing & Stack Height

Our Roman shades feature custom-engineered spacing tailored to your window's width for perfect visual balance:

B: Inner Ribs
Features 9" to 14" dynamic spacing where gaps scale automatically based on the shade's width to maintain ideal proportions. Consequently, a wider shade will yield wider rib spacing (e.g., B1 will be larger than B2).

A: Top Panel
Intentionally designed to be 2 1/2" to 4" larger than the inner sections below to ensure a clean, structured appearance (configured as A1 - B1 ≈ 4").

C: The Fully Raised Stack
Standard pleats fold and nest perfectly hidden behind the top panel.
Formula: C ≈ A (factoring in fabric thickness).

Side Details

Side Details

  • Enhanced Light Blocking
The Light Blocking Side Strip reduces light leakage along the edges of your Roman Shade, providing a deeper, more effective blackout.
  • Mounting
Designed for outside-mount Roman Shades only. The side strip attaches securely with Velcro for a clean, stable fit (included at no extra cost).
  • Clean Appearance
Conceals the side of the shade for a polished, seamless look.

Blackout Note

Blackout Note

  • Outside Mount vs Inside Mount:
Outside mount shades block more light, but may still allow some light to seep through the sides. To achieve 100% light blocking, we recommend combining Roman shades with curtains. The curtains will effectively block light from the sides, enhancing the overall light-blocking effect.
  • Plain and Top Down Bottom Up Styles:
These styles have visible stitching due to their construction, which may allow light to pass through. Therefore, 100% blackout liner is not available for these styles.
  • Other Light Blocking Styles:
Styles like Relaxed, Front Slat, Back Slat, Pleated do not have visible stitching, and light will not pass through the seams. Therefore, they can achieve nearly 100% light blocking, and 100% blackout liner is available for these styles.
